Training & Development
Planning a mini-issues day for June. The topic will be emergency services with a panel from Aid, Inc., Ruth Meiers, and American Red Cross. The hope would be that the lunch and panel would be held by a service provider who would offer a tour of their facilities. Target date is Thursday, June 24.
A tour of the new BPS career academy/tech center is being planned for late July/early August. Details will be developed in June, once the building is finished.
In late September or early October, we are planning a Government Affairs panel.

Ideas from Conference – Greg and Treva attended a national conference of Leadership Programs. They shared some materials.
- Some programs focus on skill-building
- Some use a one-day workshop as a feeder into the Leadership Program
- Some have the most recent class plan the next year’s program
- Some change the program’s issue days each year with a focus on current community issues
- Some conduct simple fundraisers at each social event
- Some focus on 21st Century Skills
The national association is shifting to a bi-annual conference, leaving opportunity for regional conferences in the alternate year.
