Board Meeting
January 11, 2010, noon to 1pm
Present: Treva Beard, Susie Kocourek, Robin Thorstenson, Tami Emter, Jason Kirchmeier, Joel Bird, Greg Ellwein, Paula Graner, Chad Bjornson
Secretary’s Report: approved (m/s Emter/Kirchmeier)
Financial Report: presented by Tami Emter; approved as read
Checking Account Balance (1/11/10) = $2114.89;
Savings Account Balance (1/11/10) = $7776.55
Membership remains at 78
Committee Reports
Membership - Greg Ellwein and Joel Bird
No changes in membership. Will encourage renewing membership in same email as event announcements.
Social Events & Training & Development
Reviewed survey results to date. 36 responses thus far. Clearly a “world’s fair” social event would be well-received. The two committees will work together to coordinate the event.
Training & Development committee will plan at least two additional events based upon the interest survey.
Communications
Mark Hanson has agreed to chair. Brenda Stone will join the committee also.
Silent Auction
Chair Paula Graner thanked the board for their efforts.
Old Business
Aquatic Center tour and Luncheon – Training & Development will be planning something for February.
National Leadership Conference – the funds and policy provides for the president and president-elect to attend the national conference this year. President Beard and President-Elect Ellwein plan to attend.
Distinguished Alumni – reviewed nomination form and made changes to language to explain the confidentiality of the process; president will appoint a review committee; request for nominations will go out this week. Previous nominations will be added to the pool for consideration.
Annual Calendar of Events - need a calendar of work for the board to use as guide. Secretary Thorstenson agreed to draft an annual calendar of work.
Leadership Graduation – March 24 at the Seven Seas. Lunch is $20.
