December 14, 2009, noon to 1pm

Present: Treva Beard, Susie Kocourek, Robin Thorstenson, Tami Emter, Jason Kirchmeier, Joel Bird, Greg Ellwein

Members Absent: Paula Graner, Chad Bjornson

Financial Report: presented by Tami Emter; approved as read
Checking Account Balance (12/14/09) = $2250.39;Savings Account Balance (12/145/09) = $6091.48
Membership is at 78

Committee Reports
Silent Auction – Treva Beard reporting
Discussion:
• Funds raised in 2006 $2370
                             In 2007 $1698
                             In 2008 $2071
                             In 2009 $1641
•Suggestions for improvements: different location; different table arrangement; post auction list on website prior to event;group items in same order as listing; list in order of highest value; insure a minimum bid is posted at 10%; focus on items for the individual, not the business

Membership - Greg Ellwein and Joel Bird
Discussion – need 9 more to meet goal; board members need to call class cohorts who have not renewed

Social Events
Discussion – committee will meet in January

Training & Development – Paula Redman and Robin Thorstenson
Discussion:
•Going to design T&D events similar to Issue Days
•First event will be a tour of the Aquatic Center & a panel update from govt leaders during a lunch
•Survey of ideas, tours, and topics will be sent out to members
•Intent is to keep costs low, participation high

Communications – still seeking chair, Mark Hanson might be willing

Old Business
Wine Tasting – spent $100 on event; might need to hold event slightly later in evening

Next meeting – January 11, 2010 at noon, Chamber office Meeting
