Financial Report: Larry presented the financial statement. Checking balance= $3,829.22 and Savings balance= $5,350.24. Greg mad a motion to transfer the checking and savings account to Gate City Federal to a free business checking account and or money market account with approximately 1.25% rate. Larry also liked the idea as it would be more convenient for him as treasurer. Jason seconded the motion. Larry is also going to shred documents not used from 2002. Larry will provide monthly budget updates to keep more accurate tracking on how we are progressing throughout the year.
Committee Reports:
Membership Committee- The goal is to get 85 people to renew their membership and pay dues and we are currently at 70. Tami and Susie recently sent another e-mail reminder. We need to complete renewal efforts soon so that it doesn’t drag out into 2009. Greg volunteered to chair this committee and Larry will remain on as a committee member.
Silent Auction-Please work diligently to respond to Kevin with items that are committed and he would like the items by November 27th to prepare how they will be displayed.
Social Events Committee- Marnie Piehl and Katie Bommerspach had expressed interest in this committee. Paula will contact them to see who will chair and recommend they plan an event, such as a wine tasting, prior to year end, or right away in 2009.
Training & Development- Treva Beard so graciously volunteered to chair the committee and will get a committee together. Jason will assist, as needed, to get events scheduled. The fall event may entail piggy backing with another organization that already has an event scheduled, due to time constraints.
Communications- Tami Emter will chair this committee. Tami and Greg will look into getting a new host for the wesite. After a new host is selected, Greg’s wife will assist in setting up the website and redesign.
Our next meeting will be at 4:00 pm Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008 at the Chamber Conference room.
