Financial Report: The financial statement was presented. Checking balance= $1,314.83 and savings balance= $7,023.82. A required deposit was made for the David Wheaton Event for $1,250, hence lowering our checking balance by this amount. We also had another $265 deposited from the Silent Auction for remaining items.
Per last meeting notes, Larry had not yet transferred the accounts to Gate City Bank due to a decision on using pay pal or an alternative for the website. Since that has been decided, he will transfer the accounts, due to fees and interest earned. The Treasurer and President will be updated annually for signature authorization and to conduct business, on behalf of LBMAA.
Communications: Tami presented information on the website and we are almost ready to go with the update. It was decided to use paypal for events as a mode to collect payment in the future. We may also decide to offer paypal for membership dues in the future. It was decided to keep 1 years of minutes from the meetings on the website, the agenda for the next monthly meeting and the notes from the annual meeting each year.
It will be $12 per year for our domain name and $10 per year to add an e-mail address for contact information. We will use a generic e-mail address that will be directed to the Chair of Communications. We will also have the Leadership Application and LBMAA Brochures online.
Membership Committee: No Report
Silent Auction: Final items disbursed.
Social Events Committee: We discussed an event for either St. Patrick's Day or a Wine Tasting on or around April 17th. The Social committee will report back on this at our next meeting. Paula will have them discuss their plans with us.
Training & Development: Treva reported that David Wheaton is scheduled for Monday, March 23 for a luncheon 11-1 pm. We are jointly offering this event with ARMA. $1,250 was made as a deposit for the event. Treva also mentioned she is planning the summer tour for a Thursday in June and it will be of the new BSC Energy Center of Excellence, pending further arrangements.
Miscellaneous Business Discussed: We discussed having future meetings from 11:30-12:30 pm, as we don't seem to finish up in 45 minutes.
We have the option of getting a group of tickets for Civic Center Events set aside if we are interested. It may not be a promotional rate, but rather, access for LBMAA Members to reserved seats, further discussion needed.
No December notes have been typed up and no information has been given to me as to what was discussed, as I was absent.
Our next meeting will be at 11:30-12:30 pm on Monday, March 9th, 2009 at the Chamber Conference Room.
