Present:Tim Pfaff, Paula Redmann, Susie Kocourek, Tonya Schlaht, Joel Bird, Robin Thorstenson, Wes Engbrecht

 

Secretary’s Report – Robin/Marnie – notes from previous meeting have been posted – there was no quorum, so business was conducted – approved (m/s Pfaff, Bird)

 

Treasurer’s Report – as of 4/30/12Checking:$842.39; Savings:$9,735.74  - approved (m/s Bird, Thorstenson)

 

Committee Reports

 

Membership – no report

Social Events/Training & Development

  • Survey generated 60 responses
  • Highest rated topics for programs
    • Traffic Changes
    • Healthcare
    • Local Issues
    • Energy Facility Tours
    • Housing
    • BBQ Social
    • Facebook and Linked in pages

These topics were discussed and will be further developed by the Social, T&D committees

 

  • Communications & Public Relations
    • Website is updated
    • Brochure needs review and updates
    • LBMAA brochure needs updating
    • Need to promote nonprofit scholarships

 

  • Silent Auction – no report

 

Old Business

 

  • Moving under Chamber umbrella is on hold until fall
  • Masterminds with Dave L. – continue the model, book, both?
    • Spent $250 this past year
    • Concenus that LBMAA include increase the T&D line item in next budget to cover costs of book discussion club programming

 

New Business

  • Need to purchase another bag of gold stars for recent grads from Dakota Awards and send with note to recent graduates inviting them to join LBMAA
  • LBM Program 2013 – apps are due by August 5, have 3 to date, remember scholarships available
  • Request for consideration of a multi-year or bulk membership discount by organization with numerous graduates.  Request to be declined.
    • Dues are very low now. 
    • Will require institutional knowledge to track year to year
    • Membership is for the individual, not the organization
    • Will require increased financial tracking and will affect cash-flow

 

 

Next Meeting 12:00 pm, Monday, June 4, 2012 at The Chamber  (June 11 is the Chamber Golf Outing)
