February 13, 2012
Present: Tonya Schlaht, Robin Thorstenson, Greg Ellwein, Tim Pfaff, Joel Bird, Chad Bjornson, Lyn Weigel, Nancy Willis, Paula Redmann, Tami Emter, Brad Krogstad, Susie Kocourek, TJ Rooney

- $622.72 in checking on 1/31/12; $10,723.75 in savings on 1/31/12
Committee Reports
- Membership – 104 members including current class

Communication/PR – haven’t met recently
- Changed the application and brochure for the LBM Program
- Reviewed LBMAA brochure
- Suggested they consider promoting six months of activities at a time

Social/Training – No report at this time.
- Seeking additional committee members
- TJ Rooney will join the social committee

Suggestions for the committee
- repeats the Health Executive Panel from a few years ago
- Consider using Skype to bring in speakers
- Offer tour of the Guard Center by the airport
- Panel on housing issues

Suggested that the committee survey members
- Include why they did not attend last year’s event

Silent Auction –
- earn a little over $1800 in revenue; $170 from the 50/50 raffle
- resolved issue with Bully Pulpit golf course raffle item
Old Business

Tax Status – LBMAA has three options:
- Move under the umbrella of the Chamber and dissolve as an incorporated entity
- Maintain EIN and filing as a taxable corporation
- Apply for tax exemption status
MOTION PASSED: Move LBMAA under the umbrella of Bismarck Mandan Chamber forthwith. (m/s Thorstenson/Bjornson)
New Business
- Autopay Membership Reneweal – Someone inquired about the possibility of autopay renewal process. The committee concluded that it was not an efficient option.
Brainstorming
- Membership should identify a class ambassador or liaison
- Establish a Linkedin group
- Survey former members as to why they have not renewed.
- Survey members with program options
Meeting adjourned. Next meeting is March 12, 2012 at noon at the Chamber. Committee members are welcome to attend.
