Committee Reports:

Membership Committee- We have received 3 more dues for membership renewal. We provided a social for the final day of Leadership, with an approximate cost of $35, for the 2009 class.

Silent Auction- Nothing discussed.

Social Events Committee- Eunice Meidinger, chair of the social committee, stopped by to let us know they are planning a wine tasting on April 17th, 4:00 pm at the Bistro. Additional information will be provided at the next meeting. They are also planning a social to follow the summer field trip on June 4th.

Training & Development- Treva Beard reported about the David wheaton event scheduled for March 23rd 11:30-1:30 at the Doublewood. Thus far approximately 50 are signed up, including the other organizations members, and she is hopeful 100 will attend. Treva has scheduled a tour of the BSC Energy Center for Excellence on June 4th.

Communications- Tami Emter reported the website is up and running, lbmaa.org. An e-mail will be sent out with the President making members aware of the updated website and asking for feedback. They can respond to info@lbmaa.org with comments and Tami will have access to review the feedback as needed. It was decided that the President, President Elect, Secretary and Communications Chair will have access to the website to update information, as appropriate.

Miscellaneous Business Discussed- Leadership Graduation is scheduled for March 25th at the Seven Seas in Mandan at noon. This has since been rescheduled due to inclement weather.

Tami brought up the idea of LBMAA sponsoring and potentially partnering, with other individuals, locally, to establish a chapter of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. This was briefly discussed and will be looked into further at future meetings.

Larry will pick up the Distinguished Alumni Award at Capital Trophy and Paula will meet with past Distinguished Alumni to decide who will be the recipient, prior to graduation.

Jason discussed what is needed to establish ourselves appropriately as a not for profit organization or a 501(c)(3). Thus far we have an EIN # but need a Tax Payer number. Since we do utilize some of the funds for member training and social events it may cause us to file an annual tax return. The CPA I talked to asked if we could table this until after April 15th and then he would give us additional guidance on how we should proceed.

Our next meeting will be at 11:30-12:30 pm Monday April 13th, 2009 at the Chamber Conference room.

Meeting adjourned
Respectfully submitted
Jason Kirchmeier, Secretary
